Elizabeth was born in London to Nigerian parents and is a mother of 3 young children. She enjoys eating out at restaurants, travelling the World and spending time with her young family. "Before arriving in the UAE 6 weeks ago, my husband and I were understandably nervous about the dramatic life changes we were about to embark upon. Six weeks in I can confirm that we have been welcomed with open arms and the greatest of Arab hospitality. Our lives here could not be more different- not only does the temperature reach and exceed double figures (a World away from the cold dark days of London), but more importantly, we are finally starting to achieve the elusive work/life balance that we could only dream about only a few months prior.
Life at Ajman Academy has been challenging – as any new job would be, but the transition has definitely been made smoother by the wise words of the staff – both existing and new! The students have also provided their fair share of information, from cultural and religious insights to the best food and entertainment destinations. Similarly, my children have already reaped the benefits of UAE education and lifestyle – the Primary Book fair and the extensive Extra-curricular activities offered are definitely worth a mention. Thought it must be said, the highlight of their day is when they cannonball into the shared pool, a mere 30 seconds from our apartment. All in all, emigrating to a Country World’s away from what we are used to has not been easy for my family of 5, but the abundance of support, hospitality and activities made available to us has provided my family with a newfound sense of adventure and enthusiasm for what the future holds for us."
